School Partnerships Feature

Abrakadoodle’s Academic Art Program offers school-based art education solutions during the school day.

In honor of Catholic Schools Week, Abrakadoodle is proud to feature a unique school partnership that is enriching children’s lives. Abrakadoodle Baltimore is a long-time art education partner with Archbishop Borders School. For 13 years, Abrakadoodle Baltimore has been providing school-day art for grades 1 through 8. A special aspect of this school partnership is that this school provides a Dual Language Program. In fact, Archbishop Borders School is the only dual-language, Spanish immersion school in the Archdiocese of Baltimore. The program promotes learning and cross-cultural cooperation. Abrakadoodle Baltimore’s Art Education Teacher

Dolores Ascon is a strong partner asset with language fluency in Spanish, French and English. Dolores is a native of Peru, and she has also lived in France. An inspiring Abrakadoodle teacher, Dolores leads students through a robust, tested art curriculum that engages children with a wide variety of materials, techniques, styles and more. Students use specialty materials, such as bamboo brushes and embossing materials, learn about contemporary and master artists, explore art from around the world, work in two and three dimensions, engage in STEAM learning and more.
